It feels weird after last patch, like game balance was changed to benefit enemies and not players. You can manage killing hoards of enemies on defence missions but you can die by single shot from laser gun in the next mission. You can touch poisonous liquid and cure the intoxication but die after some turns by it with no health-system warning about injuries. Sometimes it feels like game coded the way that your death on 7-8th missions is guranteed. For example you can have a character with 90 hp and it would die by single blow of flamethrower despite having good resistence against fire and next time playing with the same character, same resistences and with 50 hp you can survive barrage of bullets coming at you with crappy armor and low evasion chance. And the first mission after that is also good to get quite a lot of good stuff for your characters, but sometimes it feels like RNG is not on your side and you can die in instant just by something stupid. You can get quite a lot of stuff from tutorial mission without caring about anything else. But difficulty in Quasimorph feels a bit off, not talking about progression rate. It's not like I'm new to this genre, since I played XCOM and Phoenix Point, Stoneshard a lot.
